Specialized Treatment

The Wellness Center of Kalamazoo offers a variety of therapies to treat chronic pain, musculoskeletal imbalances, and neurological deficits that effect quality of living. Our occupational therapy program, provided by both Integrated Body Works and Resolution Rehbilitation provides medical rehabilitation with a focus on Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release and Functional Movement Therapy to remove restrictions from pain sensitive structures and realign the body for improved mobility and function. Therapeutic and functional exercise as well as activities of daily living training help restore strength and function. Occupational therapy may be a covered benefit by many insurance companies with a prescription from a physician.

Our complementary therapy program utilizes therapeutic body work, massage, and a variety of altenative therapies to align the body and mind, improving overall health and well-being. Our therapists have advanced clinical training and skills in a variety of manual therapy techniques and are highly regarded in the medical and alternative healing communities for being able to help where other treatment has been unsuccessful or may have provided only limited results.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is the practice of helping people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations).

Craniosacral Therapy
A gentle hands on technique of balancing the craniosacral system, the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround the brain and spinal cord and affect most functions of the body

Myofascial Release
A hands on technique that uses pressure into the fascial system of the body to relieve restrictions, decrease pain and increase mobility in the body.

Semato-emotional Release (SER)
A therapeutic process that uses and expands on the principles of CranioSacral Therapy to help rid the mind and body of the residual effects of trauma.

Neuromuscular Rehabilitation
Treatment approach that involves retraining the brain, muscles, and nerves to improve functioning due to a neurological injury. Diagnosis that benefit include Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Guillian-Barre, Spinal Cord Injuries, Cerebral Vascular Accidents (CVA), and back injuries.

Sound Healing
A holistic apporach that uses frequencies and vibrations to promote physical, mental and emotional well being. It is based on the idea that everything including our bodies vibrates at certain frquencies and, and imbalance can negatively impact health.

Therapeutic Touch and Subtle Energy
A healing method where the therapist places hands on or near the body in the energy field. This practice helps provide a balance in energy to stimulate immunologic and healing processes.
