Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle hands on approach of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological crainiosacral system-the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Every day stress or traumatic accidents can cause tension and tightness deep within these tissues of the body, often leading to chronic problems in the neurological and muscular systems.
Using a soft touch, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve functioning of the central nervous system. CST complements the body's natural healing process and may be used as a preventative health measure by bolstering resistance to disease and a wide range of medical conditions. Craniosacral Therapy was developed by John Upledger, DO in the 1970s during various studies at Michigan State University. |
