Functional Movement Therapy
When we repeat dysfunctional patterns over and over again, our bodies get used to staying within dysfunction rather than changing. Functional movement therapy deals with the rewiring of old, imbalanced muscular patterns and replacing them with more efficient ones. Using functional based movement patterns, pain can be decreased and injuries can be prevented. The areas that are assessed include mobility, stability, and motor control in order to improve alignment, posture, and strength. The progression of functional movement therapy will involve a customized and strategic home program with a whole body treatment approach.
